Introduction
Cameras have been installed at several locations within Silver Star Bike Park. The cameras are taking
photos of riders each time they pass by a camera and are available for purchase online.
To access the photos riders must have a Sniper Action Photo RFID tag attached to their bike or clothing,
the tag is used to match the rider with their photos. The photos are uploaded immediately and available
online for purchase. If you pass a camera while riding down you should be able to view your photos
while riding back up on the chairlift.
Sniper Action Photo RFID tags are free and available at all ticket sales locations.
RFID Tags
About the RFID Tags
The tags are read by antennas that are on either side of the trail and must be visible to the antennas
for best results. The antennas on the side of the trail send out a signal that provides the tag
with enough energy to emit a response back to the antenna, the response contains that tags unique id
number.
The tags have their unique ID number printed on them along with instructions for accessing photos
Attach the tag using a zip tie to either front cables, seat post, riding pack or rear belt loop. The tag can
be loosely attached so that it flaps in the wind. If you ride past a camera and don’t get photos try moving
the tag to a more visible location, such as hanging behind the seat post.
Tags can be used multiple days and should only need to be replaced if they stop functioning as indicated
by not receiving photos.
Tags are waterproof.
Tags will not be read when:
- folded in half
- Next to a cell phone or metal object
- Not visible to antennas on side of the trail
- Covered in wet mud

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Why wasn’t my tag read? / Why aren't there any photos for my tag?
If your tag isn't generating photos, there's a few things to try:
- Check to make sure that the tag is visible to antennas at the side of the trail.
- Check with guest services to ensure that the camera you passed by is operating.
- Check to see if the tag is physically damaged, if the tag is folded in half it will not read.
If you're still not getting photos, send us a note with your tagID and we'll see if there's
something wrong on our end.
Why wasn’t I framed correctly in the photo?
The camera is triggered by motion and there is a slight delay from the time the motion detection is
triggered to when the photo is taken. If you are travelling at a speed that is much faster or slower than
most riders then you may not be perfectly framed in the image. We’re constantly improving our
triggering technology, but for now try going faster or slower until you are framed perfectly in the image.
I’ve lost my tag, what should I do?
We suggest recording your number so you can view photos taken before you lose the tag. You could
take a photo of the tag or make a note in your phone. If you have lost your tag simply go to guest
services or any lift ticket selling location and ask for another tag. If you already used the tag that was lost
you will have photos in two separate galleries. There is currently no way to merge those galleries.
Why are there other riders in my gallery?
We are doing our best to present you with just your photos and will continue to refine the matching of photos to
individual riders.
